Meet Jonquel Pickney creator of the Quarantine Bae Art Series

 This is the quarantine self-portrait that started it all! We love all those items that surround her. The attention to detail is wonderful! Anyone spot the iPhone streaming D-Nice’s IG lives from early on in quarantine?!

The Quarantine Bae series happened completely by accident in 2020. I had fallen into a depression after the world had been placed in “time out” (I think most of us did).

This bae is looking toward a future in the new world with all the lessons she’s learned in 2020. Yesss, look at that vision board!!

I was in survivor mode every day, just trying to find something to occupy my mind and like most people I took to Netflix, snacking, finishing books, starting new hobbies, anything I could get my hands on. That’s what led me to start sketching again, something I had lost the joy of in previous years.

This bae is a nurse, finally relaxing and resting after she comes home after hours of treating patients. She knows exactly how serious this pandemic is and is doing all she can to help.

I decided to draw all the things that were keeping me sane in my room, surrounding me like a nest of safety.
