When some of us hear the word โ€œluxury,โ€ we get timid and decide that we donโ€™t want to see the price tag. Unfortunately, we have already concluded that itโ€™s way out of your budget, and we give up on something that can be one of the best purchases of your life. Be open when it comes to plus size luxury, do your research, and itโ€™s more than okay to save your coins for something you truly desire. There are now options like โ€œpay as you go.โ€ Donโ€™t be ashamed of how you secure your luxury fashion.

The luxury fashion industry is finally evolving to embrace the plus size market, with more brands and designers elevating their offerings for larger bodies. For years, luxury and high fashion felt exclusive to smaller sizes, leaving us plus size shoppers craving couture-quality options.

The $32B Opportunity the Fashion Industry Keeps Ignoring (But Canโ€™t Afford To Much Longer)

But now, a fresh wave of designers and brands is stepping up to celebrate inclusivity by creating opulent, beautifully crafted pieces in extended sizes. From established luxury labels expanding their ranges to new brands dedicated solely to plus size luxury, these designers are changing the game, proving that luxury isnโ€™t one-size-fits-all.

Recent studies show a significant growth in the plus size luxury market, with more high-end brands recognizing the importanceโ€”and the purchasing powerโ€”of catering to diverse body types. Publications like Vogue Business and Business of Fashion have highlighted this shift, noting that high-end retailers and designers see the potential in this previously overlooked market.

With this shift, brands are answering the call for quality fabrics, expert tailoring, and designs that donโ€™t compromise on style or sophistication, making luxury fashion more inclusive than ever before.

Join us as we dive into 10 designers and brands that are leading the way in plus size luxury fashion, redefining what it means to be stylish at every size.

Several designers are providing us with luxury plus size fashion that provides us with quality pieces and fashion to swoon over. Plus size luxury purchases are best if they are classic pieces that will grow with your wardrobe. Luxury gives up the space to purchase smarter.

Full disclosure while writing this article, one of the first things Iโ€™ve noticed is how limited the options are for any plus size women above the size 24. Also, most of these designers only provide plus size options with third-party websites such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. To be very honest, itโ€™s was very disheartening.

Plus size does NOT stop at 24. How can we all fully participate in luxury fashion if it isnโ€™t in all sizes? I realized a long time ago that I have size privilege, and many plus size women arenโ€™t happy with the state of fashion, as we shouldnโ€™t be.

Letโ€™s chat: Who is your favorite luxury designer? Do you usually purchase trendy pieces or classics?

Great article! I love luxury brands and I think it makes a difference. One wrap dress from Diane Von Furstenberg can last a decade and it feels great!

Thank you for sharing some different designers that I did not know about!

I am a size 24 and I agree that I feel privileged sometime because I can buy something in my size in a store or on-line. Most luxury brands are only on line!

Many luxury/mid-tier retailers have stepped away from the plus size market! Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous!!!!

Needless to say, I believe I can speak on behalf of the โ€œplusโ€ population, that we are excited to see the upswing of familiar fashion houses showing more and more styles for the fashion conscience, plus sized woman. The days of buying clothes that could double as maternity wear are gone, with good riddance!

Thank you for noting how all of these options top out at size 24. When I was younger, everything topped out at a size 16, so yes in many ways that size 24 is such a welcome jump in recent years. But as Iโ€™m now beyond the size 24 they all offer, listicles like this are SO disheartening to read. To come so far but still just be out of range. They need to do better, and theyโ€™ll only start doing better if we demand better. Yes we need more influencers and fashion icons that are above a 24 (um, yeah, call me! Iโ€™m available and hella stylish, despite being a size 30 with a visible round tummy and no cleavage to speak of. If you can find my waist Iโ€™d appreciate it, because I havenโ€™t seen her in decadesโ€ฆ). But more importantly, we also need smaller plus-size influencers to band with us and refuse to shop or promote brands that are not inclusive. I know the pickings are already slim, but put yourselves in our shoes and try still slaying it every day. If I can do it, a middle-aged queer cat lady on a librarian salary, so can you, honey.
